Common questions
I'm building a paid app that uses OpenConduit internally. Do I need a commercial license? ↓
Yes, if you do not intend to release your product's source code under AGPL-3.0. The AGPL requires that any modified version you distribute — or any service you provide to users over a network — must have its complete source available under the same license. A commercial license removes that obligation.
I use OpenConduit as a tool at work. Is that free? ↓
Using the unmodified application on your own or your company's machines to do work is free. You only need a commercial license if you are distributing, embedding, or hosting OpenConduit as part of a product or service.
We are a startup — is there a reduced price? ↓
Yes. Email [email protected] and mention you are a startup. We offer flexible pricing for early-stage companies.
I write open-source extensions for OpenConduit. Do I need a commercial license? ↓
No. Extensions and plugins that are themselves open source (AGPL-3.0 or compatible) do not require a commercial license. Only closed-source extensions that form a combined work with OpenConduit's proprietary internals need one — and even then, it depends on the degree of integration.
